HO HO HO Christmas is here!!!

Christmas Eve; the snow bulli is decorated with lights.

Skiers with torches come down the Okaganan Run at Apex ski resort. Beautiful site to watch while you're surrounded by children laughing and waiting for Santa with his bag of gift and people singing carols, Christmas tree standing tall and a huge bon fire burning. Click on the site and watch for yourselves:

And also watch me building Linton with all my might. Of course his head got kicked off by some kids a little later which then turned into a full blown snow fight. Tthey put the head back on afterwards though....although by morning it was flattened completely by a snow plough...ouch!!!

To all of you loved ones….have a wonderful Christmas in the heat down under and in the snow up north… We’ll be in Holland from 23rd December to the 3rd of January, 2007. See some of you in the New Year. Let’s make is a great one making dreams come true, overseas visits and trips, sailing trips and far off wilderness camping sites and much, much more.

This is our last Christmas as a pair…next year there’ll be three of us den Ouden Lobos… a very exciting time for us and our families…half of whom we already miss very much.
Big hugs and lots of kissing must be had under the mistletoe.

November in the snow

First weekend after the wedding...we took Kamper Van Skookum up to Grouse. Only the baby lifts were open but the snow was amazing to see, play with and feel again. Saw some of our favourite runs and walked to Coola and Grinder the two bears who were probably just enjoying the last sun of the winter. The week after they were in their hibernation pens. You'll see Maarten looking up at the snow ball he threw in the air.

Also that window view is at Mt. Seymour, our first visit there. We can see why Ron says it's his favourite city mountain. Grouse is small compared to Seymour and also very steep.

Totems to Turquoise

If you like jewellery from Native North American Art and North West BC Coast Art you will love this exhibition at Vancouver Museum... really worth the $10 and give yourself about 2.5 hours of more.
100s of pieces of stunning works, you'll see an artist at work too and the contrasts in the works between the American artists in the desert with the BC Coastal artists with the lush mountains.

Nice thing to do in the days ahead...where rain is in the forecast.

Gardening is on at Jericho on Sunday!

Skiing of course on Saturday at Grouse if anyone is up for it.

Have a lovely weekend.

Snow Snow Snow in town

Today...A mix of sun and cloud. Wind up to 15 km/h. High minus 6. Wind chill minus 18.

Tonight...A few clouds. Wind up to 15 km/h. Low minus 10. Wind chill minus 18.

Wednesday...Increasing cloudiness. Snow beginning late in the day. Wind up to 15 km/h. High minus 2. Wind chill minus 15.

The whole city looks wonderfully white and Christmassy! We're slipping and sliding our way to work. We also got to leave a much earlier due to road conditions yesterday. Went to Kits and tooks tonnes of photos of the white beach, the grass area where in summer 100s of peopel sun bake, a snow man, all the cherry trees covered with the white stuff.
